Message from the Principal

We want Alexander Elementary to serve children well.   This can be accomplished most effectively when the parents, the community, and staff share the responsibility for the growth and the development of our students, your children.  We hope you will take every opportunity to be part of this school.  We welcome your ideas, questions, and comments about ways we can make Alexander Elementary an even better school!

Our Mission at Alexander Elementary is to work as a team, recognize all of our students’ needs and individuality, set high expectations, consistently care for and respect ourselves, our colleagues, our students and their parents, so that our students achieve their personal best at Alexander Elementary School.
Alexander offers a full range of programs to meet the diverse needs of students, including a variety of athletic programs, in class music programs, a learning assistance program, an English language learners program, a rich Aboriginal Education program and a Response to Intervention program. Alexander students are encouraged to be committed, confident, creative, and caring learners as well as leaders in both the school and in their community.  Students learn to be reflective, mindful and thoughtful with respect to how they can contribute to the well-being of themselves, others and the world around them. Students are engaged in integrated, inquiry-based learning.  Collaboration and cooperation are valued components of the learning environment. Students become aware of their local, global, and social responsibility through their inquiries and learning opportunities provided for them.

I wish all students, parents and staff a successful and productive 2017/2018 school year.  Remember, our doors are always open.  Your child’s education is a partnership.  If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at 604-859-3167

At Alexander Elementary School every child matters: We care; we mentor; we celebrate.

Sincerely,

Ms. Brittney Wallace

Principal
